Go to the Source

If you want a question answered you must go directly to the proper Source. Sometimes we ask others for their opinions or we seek answers from those who are unacquainted with the real issues and truths.

We can honestly and humbly talk to God in heaven through prayer. It's a personal thing that one must find out for himself.

I've often known that there is much anti-Mormon literature around. Why would a person seek to find out about Mormons from those who are against the church?

Would we ask a non-Catholic about Catholicism? Or a non-Jew about Judaism?

I would welcome any questions about my beliefs -- especially if they are sincere.

  1. I would go to a neutral source for info on Mormonism....you guys don't have the greatest track record on being forthcoming on your history

  2. Sorry that's been your experience. Most of us are forthcoming!

  3. I believe that there are many LDS people who simply do not know all the answers to questions that are asked. For this reason the LDS Church has provided a website that can answer questions according to the teachings of the church.

In my experience, going to the source and then asking the "real source" if it is true is the best way to find out something for myself. That is the process that we are taught in Moroni 10:4-5

"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

The problem lies in a person who asks with insincerity and contempt. It is this manner of asking that will bring incorrect answers.

  4. I know for a fact that we are not perfect. We strive to be but we do fall and we do make bad decisions. If you need answers then fast and pray. Some church members will give you wrong advice or misinterpret what you are really wanting to know. You have to understand that we are human and we get angry at those who do not give us what we want. We see a church leader doing something we know is wrong..so do we assume all members are like that? NO! we fast and pray and let our true "source" guide us. You can get bad information on the internet and you will find that alot of the ones that are against it had a bad experience or the over analyzed things to where they made themselves believe they were right and we were wrong. Also, when there is negative media out there about us..people assume we are all like that. NOT SO! We are about family, helping others, and building faith. We believe that without faith, hope and charity you will not be truly happy.
Humble yourself...fast then pray with a sincere heart and you will get your answers. Do not believe things that are said by those who do not know. They are going by what they hear and that is not trustworthy advice. Some people who are against us state FACTS!! WHAT? since when was faith based on Facts? Never Is what I say. We need to stop trying to prove the scriptures and START living them...
